Rockstar Games announced that Grand Theft Auto 5 would be arriving on September 17th, 2013 — this new September release window does point a delay from the original Spring release that was publicized recently.
Some were not pleased, some confused and it was obvious that the decision to delay the game has not been the best PR move from Take-Two Interactive (NASDAQ:TTWO) especially with a group of loyal GTA fans.
Have you cancelled your GTA V pre-order?
“Cancelled. I now plan to transfer my money to a pre order of ‘My Little Pony: The Chronicles’. I hear the dev team behind that game stick to schedules.” – The Scottish Guy
“Not pre-ordering it, not buying it and not interested. It is Watch Dogs for me and see if there is a possibility of Saint’s Row 4. GTA is over AFAIK.” – Little William
“I never pre-ordered to begin with, because I knew this would happen.” – VoiceoftheVoiceless
“I’m thinking about canceling my pre-order as well. Not because they delayed the game, it was probably necessary, but because I feel R* tricked us by making us believe it would come out spring 2013 when they knew all along it would not happen. Same way they tricked us with Max Payne 3.
“If they really knew GTA V was going to be released in in may 2013, then they would have started the marketing compaign in october/november, but all they gave us was the second trailer. Since then it has been all quiet.” – Rucke
